There
are those who believe that all disease starts in the colon. Over the years,
decayed matter will build up on the walls of the colon, inhibiting it from
performing optimally. We know, for instance, that colon cancer is one of the
biggest killers in the United States today.
The goal of Colon Hydrotherapy is to remove this decayed matter. As the trapped
waste is broken down and removed, the colon will begin the process of healing
itself and returning to its natural state of productivity, processing the
toxins of the body properly and allowing less contamination to be delegated to
other systems of the body-such as the lymphatic system, the liver, and the gall
bladder.
Colon Hydrotherapy is the introduction of water into the large intestine
through the rectum for the purpose of hydrating and tonifying the colon.
Similar to an enema, there is a gentle insertion of a small speculum into the
rectum. But unlike an enema, which only accesses the 6-8 inches of the rectum,
the goal of Colon Hydrotherapy is to cleanse the entire 5-6 feet of the colon.
As the water travels through the colon under slight pressure, it comes into
contact with various obstructions along the way--whether it be fecal matter,
gas pockets, mucous, etc. At this point the client will feel slight pressure
start to build. The therapist will then release the pressure of the water
traveling into the colon, allowing water to flow back out the evacuation tube,
taking with it the source of the blockage. This process is repeated several
times during the 30-45 minute session. The water flowing in and out, and in and
out, like a gentle internal massage, soaks the walls of the colon, removing old
putrefied matter from the many small pockets that line the colon walls.
